But creatinine from creatine metabolism is a completely normal by-product, not a sign of kidney stress. Dozens of long-term studies (up to 5 years) have found zero evidence of renal damage in healthy people taking 3–5g/day. If you have pre-existing kidney disease, consult a doctor first.
Partially true — but only during a loading phase, and only in the muscles. Creatine draws water into your muscle cells (intracellular water), which is actually a good thing — it creates a better anabolic environment. The puffy "water retention" look is mostly associated with aggressive loading (20g/day). At a steady 3g maintenance dose, most people notice no visible puffiness at all.
Not even close. Creatine is a naturally occurring amino acid derivative found in meat and made by your own body. Steroids are synthetic hormones that interfere with your endocrine system. Creatine does not alter hormones, suppress natural testosterone production, or cause any of the side effects associated with anabolic steroids. It is legal, freely available, and approved by every major sports authority including WADA.
